Chasing Laika is an eclectic queer-core bubblegrunge band from Toronto. Their emotive lyrics and driving rhythms somehow manage to simultaneously elicit both gay yearning and moshing, drawing from indie-punk and alt-rock powerhouses such as Wednesday, Beach Bunny and Boygenius. 

The band was formed in the spring of 2024 when Sol (he/they) brought his poetry and a playlist of punk and folk influences to his friends, Rachel (she/they) and Ryan (they/them). Chasing Laika has had a successful first few months together, continuously collaborating on new music and being invited to play venues across the city. 

The debut Chasing Laika EP will be recorded (and hopefully) released by the end of 2024. In the meantime, you can find them yelling on stages all around Toronto, or on instagram @chasing.laika.
