A prototype, a proof of concept. Testing out my ideas on lighting, lyric zines, audience interaction, and the intimacy of a small-venue show. Performed at Bootsy’s Palace in Kensington Market, Toronto.
For my thesis in IMM at GBC, we had free reign to create and execute a concept relating to interactive media.
I wanted to throw a concert.
I’ve always loved live music with my entire heart, and it’d been a dream of mine to put together a “basement show,” to sing songs I wrote surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Little did I know that this would set me up perfectly for a journey into the world of live music and event production.
This project gave me familiarity with the process, an introduction to the tools, an excuse to make connections, a reason to interview people about their passions, and a birthday I won’t soon forget.
